Here are five tips from Decorate by Holly Becker that will get your juices flowing:
1. Choose a desk that is large enough for all your paperwork, incorporates some storage, and has ample space for a computer and a printer if needed.
2. Lighting is important, so pick a desk lamp that lights both your work surface and your computer screen effectively.
3. If you are working in a dual-purpose space, make sure your work desk or workstation blends in with the rest of the decor rather than standing out as a specific work space.
4. Store superfluous equipment and materials behind closed doors or drawers so that you aren’t distracted by clutter when you are trying to concentrate.
5. Arrange your electrical wiring and sockets so that you have easy access to the telephone, computer, lighting, and music.

As someone who is imaginative and finds happiness in her home, there is nothing better than walking into a place full of whimsical wonders and creativity. We are so excited to showcase the beautiful work from Brooklyn-based designer, Namhee Lee, at Pink Olive. Born in South Korea, she has now taken her unique sensibility to New York City homes with her own line of eco-chic décor pieces that please both eye and heart. Namhee finds furniture that inspires her, then “dresses it,” as she says, in fabric. Wrought iron chairs, little wooden stools, and coat hangers all get a whimsical makeover with the help of fun and dainty cotton prints, non-toxic adhesive, and a lot of patience. Some of the seats and objects she covers are vintage, and some, new.
Namhee’s whimsical line also features bird mobiles. Suspended in mid-air with grace and spunk, the little handmade birds perch along a whittled branch complete with miniature leaves. What we love about Namhee’s creations is how pieces draw upon nature to then put forth these eye candy pieces for the home. There’s no place like home, indeed.
No matter where you live, the light freshness of Namhee’s furnishings can lift your spirits and bring the outdoors indoors in an artsy, fun way.
